Straight from Los Santos to the biggest gaming event in Latin America. Brasil Game Show has just confirmed the participation of two more international guests for this year's edition. Actors Shawn Fonteno and Ned Luke.
The actors play and voice Franklin and Michael, two of the protagonists of GTA V. The pair will be at the fair to take part in Meet & Greet sessions, BGS Talks panels, the event's opening ceremonies and cosplay competitions, where they will be judges.
Marcelo Tavares, founder and CEO of BGS, highlights the relevance of the actors and the GTA franchise in the lives of millions of gamers. "Shawn and Ned helped write the biggest chapter in the history of the Grand Theft Auto franchise in more than two decades, and it's an honor to welcome them to the event. GTA V is among the top three best-selling games of all time and Fonteno and Luke's irreverence and friendliness will certainly infect the audience again and help us provide a memorable experience for fans," he says.
Shawn "Solo" Darnell Fonteno (Franklin Clinton):
Shawn Fonteno was born in 1968 in Los Angeles. In his youth, he got into music alongside well-known names from the west coast of the United States, such as rapper Kam and DJ Pooh. He achieved some fame, performing on tours with artists such as Lynch Mob and Queen Latifah. In the early 2000s, he began to invest in a career as a voice actor. He also appeared in independent comedies and made his first appearance in the GTA franchise in 2004, when he played Solo, a character inspired by his own life, in GTA: San Andreas. In 2013, he brought to life and lent his iconic voice to the protagonist Franklin Clinton in Grand Theft Auto V, his most notable role in the electronic games industry.
Since then, Shawn has worked on other games, such as Watch Dogs (2014), and films, such as Grow House (2017).
Ned Luke (Michael De Santa)
Born in 1958 in Danvile, USA, Ned Luke has a career spanning more than 30 years in acting. After making his debut in The Bear (1984), he has appeared in several TV series such as Law & Order (2005) and Boardwalk Empire (2013), as well as films such as The Nutty Professor (1996). Luke's CV also includes more than 100 TV and radio commercials and work as an executive producer for the film industry. In 2013, he became known worldwide for playing Michael De Santa, the protagonist of GTA V. He is currently working as an actor.
