At the beginning of last year, the Microsoft reached an agreement to buy Activision Blizzard for more than US$ 68 billion and, since then, the deal has been under scrutiny by regulators around the world. Among these bodies is one from the European Union, thanks to which we know the plans of Microsoft with games from Activision Blizzard in Xbox Game Pass.
On May 15, the European Union's regulatory body approved the purchase of Microsoft and Activision Blizzardbut with certain conditions. Since then, a document containing the European Commission's resolution has been published and reveals some interesting facts. Like the fact that 70-80% of the subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass belong to the plan Ultimate.
Since the agreement between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard has been announced, it is assumed that the ABK will arrive at the service Xbox Game Pass as soon as they are part of the Xboxas well as Phil Spencer confirm in September 2022 that at least Call of Duty e Diablo will be part of the service's catalog. However, it seems that not all subscribers to the service will be able to play the ABK.
Activision games may only be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
In the document with the European Commission's resolution, it is stated that, once the transaction is finalized, the games of the Activision Blizzard will arrive at the service Xbox Game Pass. But only in its Ultimate plan. This is to highlight the importance of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the Microsoft. Which is also the plan with the highest number of subscribers of all those on offer.
