A leak of Assassin's Creed Mirage may have given fans their first look at the upcoming title, as well as its possible release date.

Assassin's Creed Mirage was revealed in the showcase Ubisoft Forward and should return the franchise to its roots with a more contained story set in Baghdad, after the previous entries in the series featured RPG elements and huge maps.

As reported by Insider Gaming, the French YouTuber j0nathan postou um vídeo com “uma tonelada de vazamentos” para Assassin's Creed Mirage. The video suggests that the next game will have a map similar in scale to the Paris of Assassin's Creed Unityor the London of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Although these maps were not small, this confirms that the game will be nowhere near the scale of the two titles Assassin's Creed previous: Odyssey e Valhalla.

j0nathan also stated that the release date will be October 12, after previous rumors speculated a release in August.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage terá features de outros jogos da Ubisoft

According to the j0nathan, Assassin's Creed Mirage seems to have been inspired by other stealth franchises: Ghost Recon e Hitman.

Basim has four main targets, each occupying a part of Baghdad and the fifth being the Master Templar. It's a similar configuration to the Santa Blanca Cartel of Ghost Recon Wildlands. The identities of the targets are initially hidden from the player and, through investigations, a variety of killing opportunities in the style of the Hitman become available, with around 30 ways to dispatch each target. Much like HitmanThe more players investigate, the more opportunities present themselves.

With the focus on AC Mirage in stealth, your protagonist Basim is very weak (apparently only capable of taking a few hits) and must rely on tactics and gadgets to gain the upper hand throughout the game. These can be unlocked through a four-level reputation system similar to the Wanted classifications in Grand Theft Auto.

As Basim becomes more talented and infamous and unlocks more equipment, the world becomes more difficult to navigate. From crowds initially turning on the assassin and pointing him out to guards to more security being placed around the world. And finally, the possibility of a bounty hunter tracking Basim.

Nevertheless, J0nathan claims that there will be factions similar to the courtesans of Assassin's Creedfrom the Ezio trilogy, who can help Basim in these situations.

The series' parkour has been completely overhauled

According to j0nathanThere are new movement mechanics and animations that will show Basim showing signs of injury. Even limping until they are treated, much like the characters in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

The parkour of Assassin's Creed Mirage will also be like Unitybut better due to its new and improved animations. Which makes sense, since Mirage is being built on the same game engine AnvilNext 2.0 that Ubisoft has used since Unity.

The current sequences of Assassin's Creed have become a point of contention over the years. Especially since the end of Desmond Miles' arc in Assassin’s Creed 3 from 2012. Fortunately, there are almost no modern references or scenes. With scenes only at the beginning and end of the game, showing Desmond's father, William Miles, examining Basim's blood sample in Valhalla.

There was no confirmation of Ubisoft about whether these leaks are true or not. With Basim's story also connecting various plots from the most recent and classic titles around the Isu, and the series seemingly returning to its stealth roots, Assassin's Creed Mirage could be the game many fans have been waiting for.
