Baldur's Gate 3 - How long is the game?

What time does Baldur's Gate 3 launch on PC?

Players looking for a fast game should not play Baldur's Gate 3. In fact, it's not as long as some of the estimates thought. There are apparently 174 hours of cutscenes and more than two million words, but players would need to play the game several times to see, read and hear all that literature in action.

Even so, Baldur's Gate 3 is about a long journey that isn't simple. Even the main mission takes players in different directions. There is a quicker way through the whole game, but those who want to do all the side missions and achievements will be in for a ride that can take a long time to complete.

How long does Baldur's Gate 3 last?

  • Main mission: 25 hours
  • All missions: 34 hours
  • All missions and achievements: 70.5 hours

Although it hypothetically only takes an hour or two to rush through the main mission, players will find that they need to encounter battles that require their members to be ready and prepared.

Swapping out party members to fight each scenario is fine, but almost everyone who completes just the main mission will still need to do a few extra fights just to stay at a high enough level.

Some players are recording times of over 100 hours and that's not uncommon either. Those who check every item, customize their armor and clothing and enjoy the beautiful scenery will find themselves in the middle of a game that could take months to beat with a normal schedule.

Unlike some open-world games, this is a very memorable journey. And, the time won't be spent leveling up or grind. Exploration yields secrets, hidden treasures and exciting combat scenarios that fans of the genre have become so excited about.

Finally, Baldur's Gate 3 is now available for PC. The version for PlayStation 5 will be available on September 6, 2023. In addition, a version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
