Baldur's Gate 3 surpasses 500,000 simultaneous players on Steam

Baldur's Gate 3

It's only been 24 hours since its full launch and, based on its player count, Baldur's Gate 3 can already be seen as nothing less than a success. According to the latest information from SteamDB, Baldur's Gate 3 exceeded 500,000 simultaneous players.

As of publication, the game currently has 537,055 simultaneous players. This number, however, is expected to increase as the weekend approaches.

Currently, however, the game is the second best release of the Steam in the year, behind only Hogwarts Legacy. This game reached a peak of 879,308 players according to the SteamDB during its launch.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a great success

Baldur's Gate 3 comes from Larian Studiosthe developers behind the series Divinity: Original Sin. It's the first game in the main series Baldur's Gate as long as Baldur's Gate 2 was first released in 2000. There have been derivative titles and enhanced versions released since then, but nothing like what Larian has developed, a game "based on the current Dungeons & Dragons mechanics and spells".

Baldur's Gate 3 is scheduled to arrive at PlayStation 5 on September 6th. A version for Xbox is in development, however, there have been problems and it could be delayed until at least next year.
