Black Ops 6 Zombies: Requiem for a Lost Soul; meet the Terminus team

THE STORY SO FAR: REQUIEM FOR A LOST SOUL

After two years of fighting undead outbreaks around the world during the timeline of Call of Duty®️: Black Ops Cold WarThe CIA-led Requiem team has finally managed to close the last remaining dimensional portal, banishing its inhabitants back to the nightmarish hellscape known as Black Ether.
However, the team's success came at a high price. Agent Samantha Maxis sacrificed herself to basically seal this twisted dimension from the inside. The worst was yet to come, as members of Requiem's senior team were unceremoniously arrested on the orders of the Project Director, who turned out to be none other than Edward Richtofen.
More than half a decade later, Black Ops 6 Zombies continues the story of Dark Aether, exploring the fate of the main characters and delving deeper into Richtofen's motivations and goals.

During the intervening years, former Requiem employees - Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie "Mac" Carver, Elizabeth Grey, Oskar Strauss and Stoney Maddox (better known by his callsign, Raptor One) - have been incarcerated in an outpost known as Terminus, a mysterious garrison located in the Philippine Sea. After being imprisoned for more than five years, these characters underwent significant mental and physical changes.

Operators and manipulators: Meet the Terminus team

As a long-time veteran of the wider Call of Duty: Black Ops, Grigori Weaver is no stranger to the ever-evolving nature of war and conflict - and the gray area it often inhabits. Despite the guilt he feels over his supposed "failure" as team commander, he is more than determined to confront and expose his former director's duplicity and agendas - whatever they may be. He's tired of playing politics and is willing to burn the whole house down to expose the corruption that has led them to their current situation.

Elizabeth Grey is no longer the meek and somewhat naïve scientist who was so excited to be invited to work with Requiem that she became somewhat blind to the reality of the Black Aether threat... and to the dubious ethics of those who sought to control its power. These qualities had already changed with the loss of Samantha Maxis, but the injustice of her imprisonment brought out a tougher side that she didn't even know existed within her. Thanks to Carver's guidance and training, her transformation made her more than capable of facing any threat head on.

To CarverHis entire life-long belief in the armed forces - not to mention his own distinguished career - has been destroyed. He is understandably hurt, but not bitter. At first glance, it may seem that he has "nothing left to give", but instead he is more devoted than ever to his friends and colleagues and believes that, with determination, they will put right this terrible injustice.

As for StraussIn addition to not doing well under the strain of imprisonment and intense interrogation, his age and increasingly eccentric personality mean that he is deeply dependent on his colleagues, not only for his own physical well-being, but also for his sanity.

Events take an explosive turn when Maya AguinaldoA young Filipina smuggler arrives on the island in search of her (and very personal) agenda related to the disappearance of her own brother. The most important thing for our team is that she is accompanied by a familiar but far from welcome face...

There are many swear words that could be used to describe the Dr. William PeckBut even the most offensive ones wouldn't do justice to how detestable he is in the eyes of our heroes.

Etheric Incursions: An outpost raided

Although Aguinaldo and Peck are here mainly to free our heroes, their arrival coincides with Terminus Island suddenly becoming the epicenter of yet another epidemic. Consequently, suspicions are high.

Not only that, but it soon becomes clear that the chaos in Terminus is not the only incursion of the Dark Aether. On the other side of the globe, the West Virginia town of Liberty Falls is also facing its own zombie attack.

Personal grievances and suspicions aside, their dire circumstances mean that this motley crew of battle-hardened heroes have little choice but to fight together if they are to have any chance of survival...
