Crash Team Rumble is the new game in the franchise Crash Bandicoot, focused entirely on multiplayer and pits four players against four other players online, mixing several characters in a class model, each with their own skills.

Crash Team Rumble has embraced the trend in the video game market

Abandoning the classic platform genre - at least for now -, Crash Team Rumble embraced the current market trend and focused on a completely multiplayer game.

Pitting players against each other in matches where the best scorers win, with classes focused on Scoring, Defending and Supporting the team, the matches become completely chaotic and collaborative between the other players on your team.

The matches are excellent for passing the time, as the game is extremely entertaining. However, those who are nostalgic for the franchise Crash BandicootIn the end, they may be a little afraid to venture into this new world of Crash.

How Crash Team Rumble works

Crash Team Rumble is a completely competitive game. Your team needs to collect 2000 Wumpas before the enemy team does.

For this, the scorer class has advantages in terms of mobility and the number of wumpas they can carry. This makes the number rise more quickly.

The blockers, on the other hand, need to stay close to the enemy bank and prevent enemies from depositing Wumpas. To do this, they use the most tanky archetype of these characters, which are between Dingodile, Dr. N. Brio e Dr. N. Tropy.

Supporters, on the other hand, usually have healing abilities for their allies and are always focused on staying close to Wumpas' boosts and relic stations. To get your team further and further ahead.

Is there a progression in Crash Team Rumble?

Yes, there is a progression in Crash Team RumbleBut I'd say there's not much of an incentive. As you perform well in your CTRyou will receive some badges.

These badges can be for best scorer, best blocker, causing more damage to opponents and much more. With these badges, your final XP will be higher. This will raise the level of your character and your level in the battle pass.

Special abilities are also unlocked through these badges, but there is an end to this progression. The maximum character level is 15, the skills are few and far between and you soon unlock all the characters.

In other words, all that's left is the battle pass, and the game's achievements/trophies, which are also simple to solve. So, what's left?

There's something here, but it's a long way from being a successful game

When Fall Guys There were many different maps, making the game practically have several modes. Each map had different challenges to be met.

In addition, there was a strong partnership with third-party franchises, so players were always on their toes.

In Crash Team RumbleBut that's not the case. There is a variety of maps, which is nice. But there's only one mode available.

A roadmap for the game has already been confirmed, bringing a new power, a new character, a new map and a limited mode in July. In August, another character and another limited mode will be coming to Crash Team Rumble.

However, I don't believe that this is enough for players to stick with the game or return to it. I believe that much of the problem is also the value of the game. In PSNwhere I played, it costs R$ 169.90.

The track record of multiplayer games in this format, with this variety of content and similar values, is not very good.

But is it fun?

Yes, it's fun! When I started, I thought it would just be a hobby. I started by playing games and listening to some podcasts while I played.

As I saw the trophies in the PSN grow, I invested even more in the game, to get to 100%, something I haven't done in a while.

At the moment, the only thing missing is the trophy for reaching the maximum level with a character (fortunately, I'm almost there), so I don't think the game has any long-term content. That's because, once I've reached the platinum, I don't know if I'll return to the game straight away.

I don't think it's worth the amount suggested by Activision for the digital version, but perhaps a 50% promotion will make the price fairer.

The essence of Crash is still here, each character has their own characteristics and they really make a difference, and the soundtrack... impactful as always.
