Dead Island 2 - Haus - Review

At the beginning of the year, I had the chance to play Dead Island 2, the sequel to a game that was announced many years ago. And just like the original game, the sequel surprised me a lot in terms of fun. Despite its simplicity, for me Dead Island ranks among the games I've had the most fun with this year.

And for this reason, when I had the chance, I didn't even hesitate to play the game's first DLC: Haus. And this DLC brings back all the quality I saw in the full game, in a very comfortable playing time. The story begins after the end of the game, so I think you need to finish the game first.

A new story...

In the history of this expansion, "The death cult founded by a shady billionaire fights for survival using high technology in the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse. The Kulto is made up of paradigms of a new future, shown to them by their mysterious leader and prophet, Konstantin."

We explore this sinister world full of debauchery while immersing ourselves in the twisted ideology of the cult. Here, the bizarreness that was already present in the original game is even more bizarre. And that's a good thing! The new story lasts about two hours, which pass as if they were seconds, because it's so much fun.

And it's not just a new story we're getting, there are many other gameplay elements brought to us by the DLC. One of them is a new long-range weapon, the K-Beast: "Made for precision and lethality, it has devastating long-range firepower and blows zombies' heads off with ease"

We also have a new short-range weapon which, in terms of attack, is very similar to an axe. The weapon also deals elemental fire damage to make things even better. In addition, new skill cards have been released to further vary the gameplay.

Was it worth it?

Overall, Dead Island 2's DLC is very satisfying in every way, be it gameplay, story, or even visuals and soundtrack. Some of the scenery is very beautiful and very varied, considering the indoor environments. We received this new content, but I wouldn't regret buying this DLC in the slightest.
