En Garde! is a delightful mini Spanish journey

In En Garde! It's all very simple, and you're only on a mini Spanish journey. The game will put you through 4 chapters that last about an hour each.

The chapters consist of exploring the beautiful Spanish scenery, reading files that make the narrative richer in detail, and facing the countless enemy encounters you'll encounter along the way.

At the end of each episode, you have a real duel with the enemy of the respective stage.

The combat is inspired by great games, but it has its charm

The fight against En Garde! can quickly be reconciled with old games in the franchise Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham e Spider-Man.

It consists of you attacking your enemies, dodging and hitting the button at the right time to parry your enemy. In the best SekiroYou'll need to break your guard in order to deal more damage.

But beware, there are some enemies that have more than one life, so it can be a bit tricky to defeat them.

There are also some who, as the chapters go by, have different abilities. Like throwing bombs, using different weapons or being more resistant to Adalia's attacks.

Humor in the right measure makes En Garde! a distinctive indie

Despite being relatively short, En Garde! has all its charm. The game is full of dialog and isolated jokes tied together with the central narrative.

All this while we explore countless landscapes in Spain, from markets to caves on an island with precious treasure.

As well as adding a dash of romance to the journey, in the best style Zorro e Puss in Boots. If you're a fan of swordsman movies, En Garde! is made for you.

A taste of wanting more

This time, it won't be "not all flowers", but "a taste of wanting more". Everything in En Garde! is put into the recipe in just the right amount. But that turns out to be a great sin.

Of course, we have to consider that it's a small studio behind En Garde! But I can't deny that everything about the game, from the characters' accents to the beautiful visuals and rich soundtrack, makes me want to play it more and more. Not to mention the great interactivity you can have with the settings.

You can pick up items and throw them at your enemies, drop jars on them, drop liquids on the floor to make your enemies slip and much more.

Is it worth playing?

There's not much more to talk about En Garde! Well, as I said before, it's a game that's completely tailor-made.

Due to the studio's limited scope, they ended up making the right decision to make a contained game, but a very special one. This is one of the best and biggest (in the sense of grandiosity) adventures I've had in gaming this year.

If you like to venture into the indie games market, En Garde! is a must for anyone who enjoys a good action-adventure game.
