Gears 6 is in development and could be open world

Gears 6

It is said that Coalition is working on Gears 6 for some time now, and the anticipation for the next game is growing steadily.

Not much has been revealed about the game, but a recent leak suggested an exciting new direction for the series. According to a report, Gears 6 can use an open-world formula for a new version of the series.

The most recent leak comes from Nick Baker, a popular leaker who has accurately reported several leaks in the past. During the recent episode of XboxEra Podcasthe said:

"It [Gears 6] is a little further along than some might think, and there's a strong possibility that it will be a full open-world game."

Gears 6 could be completely open-world

The possibility of Gears 6 being fully open-world was previously discussed when the The Coalition switched to the Unreal Engine 5. Which was claimed to allow for higher quality visuals, larger and more interactive settings and much more.

Gears traditionally focuses on a linear campaign, but Gears 5 delved a little into a semi-open world format, allowing players more room for exploration than previous entries in the series.

However, this rumor suggests that Gears 6 is looking to go all out with this design, potentially becoming the first open-world title in the series since its inception in 2006.
