Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation, Helldivers 2 is a multiplayer third-person shooter. In it, elite forces Heldivers seek victory in an intergalactic confrontation against the proliferation of alien threats.
Beating games like Destiny 2 e GTA V andtotal number of simultaneous players in the Steam, Helldivers 2 has already exceeded 1 million units sold and has been surprising all players.

Helldivers 2 gives you a simple task
Contrary to what some players thought, Helldivers 2 doesn't have a campaign, but rather a story in the background.
In Helldivers 2 the premise is very simple. You joined the Helldivers and must fight for freedom in a hostile galaxy. This way, you'll join a squad where up to four Helldivers must fulfill strategic missions.
But beware, you must act intelligently during the missions, completing objectives, saving ammunition, requesting field strategies and being as careful as possible of friendly fire, a sad fact of war.
The galactic war
Helldivers 2 doesn't have a campaign, but it does have a journey. Together with players around the world, you have to carry out operations in order to help rid Super Earth of the aliens.
So, inside your ship you have a sort of planning table, where you open a world map and see all the zones on Super Earth. You can't choose anywhere on the game planet, but are restricted to the locations where players around the world are playing.
Once a planet reaches 100% domination, you'll be able to move on to the next one. The planets have different biomes, different enemies and some effects. An example of a planet effect is the intense heat, which causes your stamina to be consumed in greater numbers, as well as the weapons having accelerated heat buildup.
It's also worth noting that there are nine difficulty levels, each of which offers players different challenges. From more enemies to powerful enemies, side missions and more.
The structure of Helldivers 2
Despite being a simple game, the structure of Helldivers 2 even at launch, is already extremely complete. As well as the incentive to help players and save Super Earth, there are other things that keep you hooked on the game.
Imperative orders
The imperative orders are the Community's objectives Helldiver. For example, at the time I took my notes, the automatons had launched a surprise attack on the civilians.
Thus, the Helldivers you had to go all out against them. By completing at least eight missions against the Automata, you would earn a reward of 12500 Requisition, which we'll explain how to use in the following sections.
Procurement Center
The Acquisition Center is a screen where you'll find the War Bonuses, a progression menu inspired by the Battle Passes in other games. At the moment, there are two War Bonuses, one free and one with paid access.
In the War Bonuses, players are able to unlock cloaks, helmets, armor, weapons, grenades, poses and more. Although there is a paid War Bonus, you can't unlock levels for real money. To unlock levels, you need War Medals, which are earned by completing objectives.
Ship
The ship in Helldivers 2 works like a HUB and is where you will set up the entire strategy for your mission. Inside there is a computer where you can change your arsenal, for example.
As an arsenal, you can carry a main weapon, a secondary weapon and a grenade. On this same computer you can view details of your career, such as Helldiverand modify some things about your character, such as voices, gestures and more.
On another computer you can unlock modules for your ship. Modules are gameplay improvements, such as the number of magazines in support weapons, better control of the Hellpod and so on. Requisition Points are used for the modules.
Strategies
Strategies are one of the most important points in the game. They serve as support skills for players in the middle of battles. You can, for example, request an ammunition capsule, a heavy weapon for support, explosives and more.
It's also worth remembering that if your friend dies, this is where you need to revive them. To use the strategies, you need to hold down L1 on the PS5 and make a "Konami code"Press the arrow keys in the direction required by the strategy you want.
This makes for a very entertaining dynamic, which can be complicated at times when there are many hordes, and which means that each strategy is "invoked" in a different way.
Is the multiplayer experience good?
Starting with excellent news, Helldivers 2 has cross-play. This information alone means that you'll be able to play with your friends regardless of their platform. Unfortunately, cross-progression is not included, so you won't be able to transfer your saves from PC for PS5 and vice versa.
Another point to note is that, as of February 19, the game's servers have a reduced capacity, allowing around 450,000 users connected at the same time. In other words, many players are unable to play at all due to the sheer number of players.
Now, taking gameplay into account, the experience is excellent. The way you have to cooperate with others Helldivers to make progress on the objectives, and above all to call the strategies, is unique.
Is Helldivers 2 worth playing?
Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to play the first game in the franchise and only heard about how good the game was. All fans of the franchise have been surprised since the announcement at the evolution the game has undergone, moving from the top-down view to the third person.
Even with the change in perspective, Helldivers 2 has not ceased to be what it was in its predecessor: A Battle for Democracy. Helldivers 2 can bring emotion, cooperativeness and, above all, difficulty.
Every move needs to be thought out in advance, and your strategies and arsenals need to be chosen very wisely according to each mission. There are enemies who need armor-piercing bullets, for example.
Helldivers 2 is a pleasant surprise for the beginning of 2024, and shows that Sony's decision to bet on games as a service for extra income may well work. After all, Helldivers 2 has already worked.
