The developer RGG Studio of the franchise Like a Dragon has announced the next main game in the series, Infinite Wealthwill be released on January 26, 2024. The announcement was made during the most recent RGG Summit of the studio, before the Tokyo Games Show 2023.
The youtube channel RGG also released a story trailer that sets up the events of Infinite Wealth. The protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, is sent to Hawaii to look for his long-lost mother, Akane. When he arrives, he ends up being ambushed, as many local factions are also looking for Akane.
The series' poster boy, Kazuma Kiryu, has also been sent to find Akane by the Daidoji faction, and he teams up with Ichiban to completely dismantle the Yakuza in Japan.
O RGG Studio says that Kiryu is facing "a final battle as you enter your twilight years"which we hope means that he will finally get a break from the plot of Infinite Wealth.
From going to prison for a crime he didn't commit to having to fake his own death to protect his adopted daughter Haruka, Kiryu is now also battling cancer. And he's still running around getting into street fights. I think he's more than getting some rest now.
