Moving Out 2 - Review

Moving Out 2 Review

Welcome to Caixópolis, the city least likely to have a sloth infestation - they had one last year, so now it's the least likely - and which has the best moving company in the world, Leva e Traz. This is our review of Moving Out 2!

Taking place eight years after the first game, none of the porters ended up returning to Caixópolis. That's after going to the perfect, completely tax-free Tropical Paradise. Yeah, they did the right thing.

Moving Out 2 is a chaotic moving simulator with crazy physics. It's your job, alone or with three friends, to pack up the furniture and carry out the removals for the residents of Caixopolis.

The story of Moving Out 2

Well, the story of Moving Out 2 is pretty silly. In fact, it's not even the highlight of the game. In the story, the boss of Leva e Traz tried to reduce the company's workforce by 90%. However, an "inter-nominal" portal opened up in Caixopolis and ended up infesting the multiverse with boxes of furniture. But even worse, his boss was taken by this portal.

You'll then need to find all the technomes from the dimensions of Caixocolandia, Caixopia and New Caixopia in order to repair the portals and find your boss again.

The content of the game

Moving Out 2 basically comes down to making changes, but that doesn't mean the game needs to be short on content. During your journey, you'll come across arcade tapes, which unlock some puzzle-style bonus stages.

Some style boxes can be collected during the stages to unlock new skins for your characters. There are some phase variations, such as "Take it inside", where you have to make the move in reverse, taking it to a new residence instead of packing it. In this mode, there is an exact place for each item, so the race against time gets even more exciting.

What's more, after finishing each stage, some bonus activities will be unlocked. For example: finishing the stage without opening sliding doors, without breaking any glass, breaking all the glass, interacting with some items in the scenery and so on.

Carrying out these bonus activities will earn you more stars, allowing you to raise your FART level. The FART level is required to reach some specific areas of the maps of Caixopolis, Caixocolandia, Terras Caixas and Nova Caixopia.

It's worth remembering that cross-play is also present in the game, all you have to do is add a friend via your Team17 account. And although there are numerous skins in the game, there are no micro-transactions. They are all collected during the stages.

Accessibility

If there's one thing we need to praise Moving Out 2 is accessibility. There's an option to activate the font for dyslexics, put the character in a wheelchair and an assistance mode.

The assistance mode can be activated before entering a stage, with options such as a longer time limit, objects disappearing in the delivery, reduced difficulty, skipping stages you can't complete and a better fit in the "Take It Inside" levels.

There is also a very interesting option for those who want to play split-screen on the sofa, but the second player doesn't have as much experience with video games, which is very common among couples. You can activate it to make the second player's objects lighter to carry.

Accessibility is definitely not lacking in Moving Out 2.

Location

Well, as this review draws to a close, I'd also like to highlight the game's localization. Moving Out 2 has subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese.

The game's localization is extremely humorous, with numerous jokes and puns. In addition, all the environments in the game have been given their own name in Portuguese. Packmore, for example, became Caixópolis.

In fact Moving Out 2 is a game with very little text, but all the interactions in the game that include text make the localization border on perfection.

Is Moving Out 2 worth playing?

This is certainly a must-have game for anyone who likes puzzles, a bit of thinking and a good game of co-op. The first game was already excellent, but it lacked an online mode.

For the sequel, they've added an online mode, along with full crossplay. Moving Out 2 is the best form of the franchise. If you've played the previous game, or you like good cooperative games in the style of OvercookedIf you're looking for a game where cooperation is important, this game is definitely for you.

And if, like me, you want to focus on the solo mode, don't worry, I had a lot of fun playing it Moving Out 2 without a companion by my side.

In a nutshell, Moving Out 2 arrives on August 15th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series e Nintendo Switch. Finally, Moving Out 2 arrives at its launch in PS Plus Extra e Deluxe.
