The brilliant minds behind Concrete Genieexclusive to PlayStation 4will dawn this Monday unemployed. A PlayStation closed the studio PixelOpus this Friday (05).
Recently PlayStation has been investing heavily in many developers, large and small, to create a solid roster of teams that make award-winning games. Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Sucker Punch and many others have released some of the best games on the brand's consoles.
In fact, other smaller studios have also received some attention from the Japanese company. But unfortunately for PixelOpus it turned out not to be a happy ending.

The minds behind PlayStation's Concrete Genie leave a legacy
The developers of the brilliant Concrete Genie will be evicted in June by the PlayStation. The report came via the studio's official Twitter account, announcing that it would be closing its doors, and that they were mourning the loss of something so special.
"I like to think that, with #ConcreteGenie, we've made the world an ever-better place... and not many games these days get the chance to try and do that," said PixelOpus senior environment artist Bob Archibald. "I'll always be grateful for my time building imaginative worlds with this amazing team."
This is very sad news indeed. Not only for the project and the legacy they left for PlayStation Studios, but also for the work they were doing.

What PixelOpus will leave behind
PlayStation has not made it clear what will happen to the project that PixelOpus has been developing since the release of Concrete Genie in 2019. All we know is that the game would be a partnership between PixelOpus and Sony Animation.
Some rumors and theories from gamers led them to believe that this game might have something to do with the Sly Cooper franchise, which had its last entry in "Time Travelers", exclusive to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
Unfortunately, all we can do is wait and hope that the project isn't canceled. And, of course, that the developers move on to a new project that lives up to their excellent qualities.
Concrete Genie is now available, exclusively for PlayStation 4. It can be played via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, Concrete Genie is not available in the PlayStation Plus Extra or Deluxe catalog.
