PlayStation won't release major games until 2025

Earlier on Wednesday (14) the PlayStation took everyone by surprise with this news: The PlayStation 5 will not receive "titles from existing major franchises" until the end of the next fiscal year.

In other words, we won't be seeing any new games from the well-established franchises of PlayStationsuch as God of War, The Last of Us, Spider-Man and probably Horizon.

This information was disclosed by Sony during the release of its fiscal report for the last quarter of 2023. The company's current plan is to focus on games as a service, such as Helldivers 2 e Concordwhich will arrive in 2024.

If you've heard someone say that, know that it's a lie. The owners of a PlayStation 5 you can rest assured that there's still plenty to enjoy. In February we had the launch of Helldivers 2and in the same month we will see the launch of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
