According to information obtained by the website Insider Gamingthe long-awaited remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will not be exclusive to PlayStationcontrary to rumors circulating on some websites.

This remake has been something of a poorly kept secret by Konami, and it is almost certain that the announcement will be made during the PlayStation Showcase, with a teaser being shown. It's worth noting that we're not talking about a full gameplay trailer, but rather an appetizer to pique players' curiosity.

But the news doesn't stop there. According to the site's sources, the remake will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and also for the Steam. It is not yet clear whether there will be any exclusivity in the version of the PlayStationwhether in terms of marketing or potential DLC.

Rumors about this remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater have been circulating for years, but it was a report from VGC in October 2021 that increased the chances of this news coming true. According to VGC, the company responsible for developing the remake is Virtuos.

There are also other rumors that point to a possible title of Castlevania in development. However, it is not possible to say whether this novelty will be presented during the Summer Games Fest event.

Initially launched in November 2004, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was a real sales success, with 2.38 million units sold in Asia and America by December of the same year. By 2021, the game had sold more than four million copies worldwide.

It's very important to remember that although the Metal Gear franchise is closely associated with Playstation, only one game remains exclusive to the platform, and that's Metal Gear Solid 4, released only for Playstation 3.

O Playstation Showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 24, starting at 5 p.m. Brasília time.
