Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today revealed what lies beyond the Barren Lands of SAND LAND in a trailer containing the explorable areas, enemies and missions that players will face in the Forest Land.
The upcoming action RPG based on the original work by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump) takes players on a journey in a colorful, water-logged post-apocalyptic world where humans and demons coexist and fight over resources.
In SAND LANDIn the game, players take on the role of the Prince of Demons Beelzebub, his companion Thief and the fearless Sheriff Rao, an unlikely team in search of the Legendary Lake, capable of ending the terrible drought that has gripped the world.
The game features a mix of melee and vehicular combat, allowing players to explore different environments and discover new vehicles that can be customized and equipped with gear to cross the desert, overcome obstacles or face a variety of powerful enemies.
Beyond the dunes and the scorching desert sun, a lush, green nation called Forest Land is discovered. Although peaceful at first glance, Forest Land is ruled by Muniel, a new character who opposes Sand Land and is determined to save his homeland by securing Aquanium, a powerful but dangerous resource.
Forest Land presents a series of new challenges for Beelzebub and his allies revealed in the trailer. With Ann's support, players will rely on their courage and excellent mechanical skills to upgrade their vehicles and battle each of the generals in the Forest Land army.
SAND LAND is a popular manga created in 2000 by Akira Toriyama, author of DRAGON BALL and Dr. Slump, which has gained worldwide popularity since its publication. In a desert world where demons and humans suffer from extreme water shortages, Beelzebub, the Prince of Demons, and Rao, a small-town sheriff, team up and go on an adventure in search of a hidden water source.
In December 2022, the SAND LAND project was announced and several partners came together to bring this classic manga intellectual property to transmedia. The project began with the co-production of an anime film by Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc.'s Sunrise Studio, Kamikazedouga Co. Ltd. and ANIMA Inc., followed by the official unveiling of the SAND LAND game in June 2023.
SAND LAND will be released on April 26, 2024 for PlayStation®️5, PlayStation®️4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam®️ and its demo is already available on all platforms.
