The update released today for STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY RVersion 1.10 adds a new difficulty mode, additional raid enemies after finishing the game and more weapons, among other things.
This game is the 2.5D remake of the second installment in the series STAR OCEAN, critically acclaimed. Watch the trailer for the update below:
The free update of STAR OCEAN: The Second Story R
- A new level of relentless difficulty: CHAOS
- The so-called CHAOS mode introduces a new dynamic difficulty level.
- Additional attack enemies (the Ten Wisemen)
- It is now possible to fight each of the Ten Wisemen individually after completing the main story.
- Each Sage has a unique special attack.
- New characters for raid action
- An exclusive gem is awarded for defeating each of the additional enemies in the raid. These gems allow you to use the attack action system.
- Character art
- By participating in various in-game events, new NPC art created by Yukihiro Kajimoto will be unlocked. The characters with new art include Regis, Allen, Mariana, Eleanor, Clyde and Leifath.
- You can see all the artwork for the characters unlocked during the story on the title screen, as well as the artwork for the playable characters.
- New finals collection
- You can now view all the endings unlocked so far in the new endings collection, available in the Special menu on the title screen.
- Additional items
- Version 1.10 adds new items to the game: weapons, equipment and accessories for the characters. These items will be available after completing the main story.
- It's now possible to reset your character's level while keeping the items you've earned, so you can continue to develop your character in New Game+
STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R revitalizes the popular 1998 role-playing game with a beautiful 2.5D aesthetic, a revamped soundtrack and a host of additional improvements. The game is available for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and PC via STEAM.
