Testing SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada!

We were recently invited by Bandai Namco to a closed network test of SYNDUALITY Echo of Adawhich took place between September 13th and 16th. For those who aren't familiar with the game, it's an exploration shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans need to work together with AIs for mutual survival.

For those who don't remember, the game was announced at a State of Play two years ago. Check out the trailer:

Unexpected gameplay

I remember the announcement of the game well, and the impression I had at the time was totally different from what I played. The gameplay reminded me a lot of games like Scape From Tarkov, in which you have to go out onto the map in search of resources and go to an extraction point when you've completed your mission.

In the game's universe, humanity faced a flood that wiped out 90% of the species, and now the survivors live underground. When you go on a mission, you go looking for AO Crystals, which are highlighted on the game map.

In order to extract these minerals, we have to face creatures scattered all over the map in the most diverse ways. Another constant threat in the game is the rain, which continually reduces the resistance of our "mecha". This is a greater danger than the creatures themselves and forces us to seek shelter before it's too late.

Another threat I encountered in the game was other "mechs" and, in the video we've uploaded to our YouTube channel, this is how we died on our first real exploration. And we died pretty quickly, by the way, I think because of our low level.

Just like in Tarkov, you organize the items and weapons you're going to take with you to explore the map, and they're available in limited quantities. If you die in the middle of a mission, all the items you have with you will be lost, which is very frustrating, but in keeping with the style of the game.

Some considerations...

The game has several terms to be signed at the start, and they can be read in several languages, including ours (PT-BR). However, when you actually start the game, you can't play in Portuguese, and I confess I didn't understand it very well. But that's the first point of improvement I've found in the game.

Its visuals and soundtrack are very simple, as are the cutscenes, but it's nothing to get upset about. Despite being simple, everything works very well visually and also in terms of gameplay.

The purpose of this closed network test was to test the network, obviously, and on this point, the game went very well. I didn't have any problems, apart from some maintenance that was already scheduled and reported, so I don't consider it a problem in itself. But I hope that when the game is released, it will already be available in our language.

And did you know about SYNDUALITY Echo of ADA? If you didn't know, are you interested in the game? Let us know in the comments, because we're very interested to know how much attention this game gets in our country...
