The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Review

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Review

Developed by Gun Interactivestudio behind the asymmetrical "Friday the 13th: The Game 2017, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a game that uses the same recipe, this time in the Chainsaw Massacre universe.

After announcing that its previous game "Friday the 13th: The Game" would be shut down, the developer is now launching a new asymmetrical horror game.

Having a lot in common with games in the genre, such as not only Friday the 13th, but also Dead By Daylight, by Behaviour Interactive, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre takes everything that the genre has brought so far and tries to improve on it.

Leatherface will never be alone in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Just like with your next of kin, you can choose whether you want to play as a member of the Sawyer family or as a victim from the game's main menu. Or even at random.

Since the matches have seven players in total, you'll have two more assassins by your side, who are looking for four victims.

The mechanics of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the survivors start the game after being kidnapped by Leatherface. So now you have to find the tools you need to escape the level.

Meanwhile, Leatherface is hunting down the fugitives, and the other members of the family can help him on his journey in a few ways.

You can also try to hunt down the fugitives, or lock some doors and feed Grandpa's blood. By feeding Grandpa's blood, a kind of sonar will be given to the assassins, allowing you to find the fugitives more easily.

The way you play should vary greatly from match to match. The consistent variation in the way your opponents play. Whether they're a bit more attacking or more defensive.

Is the game's content long-lasting?

Not only does The Texas Chainsaw Massacre not have any significant points that will set it apart from other asymmetrical horror games, it doesn't have a wide range of content.

At launch you have three maps available for the game: the family home, the gas station and the slaughterhouse. These three maps are inspired by the 1974 movie and are very well reproduced.

Of course, with the vast number of films the franchise has received, it's quite possible that there's a lot in store for the game, despite the rights imbroglio.

So, there's nothing more to do than simply enter matches and prevent your opponents from escaping. Plus, of course, playing around customizing your characters and unlocking new skills in the skill tree.

Is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre worth playing?

Bearing in mind that we have a great title like Dead By Daylight on the market, which receives constant updates and is large-scale. I wouldn't recommend playing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Of course, the nostalgia of some of the fans can weigh heavily in this school, making you very interested in playing the title.

So I'd recommend you try it out via Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, or wait for a good promotion on the game.

It's not a game of dubious quality, but it's doubtful that there's much to add to the title, given that the competition is light years ahead.

But again, if you like the asymmetrical horror genre. And you're a big fan of the franchise. It's up to you to understand how much you want to play the title.

In a nutshell, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is available for PC, PlayStation e Xbox. Finally, our review was made with a key provided by Sumo Digital.
