World of Warcraft is inviting for new players and a rich experience - Preview

world of warcraft preview

It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to keep a game on the air and with a large player base for years, or rather decades. There are very few games that have managed this feat, and World of Warcraft is one of those who succeeded, and masterfully.

Launched by Blizzard Entertainment launched on November 23, 2004, World of Warcraft has a universe rich in history, mythology and complex characters, with a lore that stretches from the mythical creation of the cosmos to the epic battles of Azeroth.

This Preview of World of Warcraft was only possible thanks to a code from the Welcome to Azaroth package, sent by Blizzard Brazil.

The history of World of Warcraft

In the beginning, there was only the Void and the Light, whose conflict gave rise to the universe. From this primordial chaos emerged the demons and, later, the titans, powerful beings who sought to bring order to the cosmos. Azeroth, the world in which World of Warcraft takes place, was discovered by the Titans, who confronted the evil Old Gods and entrusted the Dragon Aspects with the protection of the planet.

The history of Azeroth is marked by wars and conflicts, such as the War of the Ancients, the opening of the Dark Portal and the successive wars between the Alliance and the Horde. Each expansion of World of Warcraft adds new layers to the story, introducing new continents, races and threats, such as the invasion of the Burning Legion and the rise of the Lich King.

WoW offers a varied structure of missions

Some games fall out of favor with players because they're too repetitive and don't have a wide variety of missions, and despite being an MMORPG - where this usually happens - WoW manages to balance things out a lot.

There are four types of missions available in World of Warcraftas far as we know, and they are:

  • World Missions: Activities scattered around the map can be individual adventures, multiplayer challenges, profession tasks, world bosses, dungeons, pet battles and activities.
  • Main Story: Quests that continue the main story of World of Warcraft, allowing the player to learn more about Azeroth and its adventures.
  • Legendary Quests: This type of quest offers valuable rewards and is aimed at players who are in WoW in search of greater challenges and high-ranking items.
  • Daily Missions and Events: Quests that are updated daily or during special events ensure that players are always up to date with WoW.

Even the simplest quests add a lot to the player's life, always exploring the mysteries and history of Azeroth itself. Of course, they also offer players good rewards, so that nothing is in vain.

What came in the Welcome to Azeroth package

The key we received from Blizzard was for the "Welcome to Azeroth" pack, which was only available for players to purchase until June 23.

The package offered 60 days of gameplay, a character upgrade to level 60 and the availability of the expansion DragonflightThe level 60 boost given to the player is then rewarded.

Welcome to Azeroth served not only to bring new players to World of Warcraftbut also to prepare them for The War WithinThe expansion was released on August 26th.

What was the experience of playing World of Warcraft like?

As you've read in the title of this post, this is a preview, after all I haven't been able to finish the main story of World of Warcraftlet alone the expansion. This is because of the number of missions the game has, and how much you have to dedicate to a game like this.

Ever since I was little, it's always been a dream to play World of WarcraftI was finally able to do it, and it was a magnificent experience. Honestly? I didn't regret having it as a dream.

My experience in Azeroth over these 60 days has been as intense as possible. I've been completely immersed in everything this game has to offer, from the quests, dialogues and even the combat, where it's a real pleasure to defeat the smallest to the largest enemies.

Any fan of MMORPGs, fantasy games or games with deep lore and a vast universe, World of Warcraft is indispensable.
