During the Xbox Official Podcast this Thursday (15), which detailed the future of the Xbox, it was announced that the Xbox Game Pass currently has 34 million subscribers.
The 34 million is up from the 25 million the company last reported, an increase of 36%. However, the figures are not where the company had planned, as it had a target of reaching 100 million subscribers by 2030.
In general, the head of the Xbox, Phil Spencerknows that not everyone will sign up for the Xbox Game Pass. And for him, that was never the company's goal.
"Our goal is not to make everyone a game pass subscriber." Spencer said in an interview with The Verge. "I've said many times that maybe 10% to 15% of our content and services revenue is subscriber revenue. It's a good business for us today, Game Pass, but by no means is there a plan that says 'Okay, everyone needs to become a Game Pass subscriber'."
