Let Leviathan come! New trailer for The Rising Tide DLC reveals new information about Final Fantasy XVI's additional content

This Friday (22), during PAX East 2024, new details were revealed of the The Rising Tide DLCthe latest expansion for Final Fantasy XVI. One of the most important things is its release date, set for April 18, exclusively for PlayStation 5 initially.

In addition to the date, a lot of other information has been revealed. We'll have access to a new map, called Mysidia, where we'll go after a mysterious letter about a dominant of the water Eikon, Leviathan, who is supposedly missing. For this mission, we'll have the help of Joshua, Torgal and Jill, the latter of whom is promised a greater focus.

To make this journey easier, the character's maximum level is set at 60 in story and action mode or 110 in Final Fantasy mode (New Game+). In addition to the higher level, we have a whole set of Leviathan skills available to help in medium and long-range combat, as well as the ability to summon the Eikonic skill - Serpent's Scream, a head that spits out jets of water from a great distance.

When the powers of the Eikon of Water arrive, Clive will control all eight elements, but it won't be the last power our hero will discover during the DLC.

One of the highlights of Final Fantasy 16 is the Eikon battles. Seeing these huge, powerful creatures face to face is incredibly epic and The Rising Tide is no different. We will witness the confrontation between Ifrit, Eikon of Fire and Leviathan, Eikon of water.
