Lightyear Frontier - 5 tips for beginners

Developed by FRAME BREAK and published by Amplifier Studios, Lightyear Frontier is an open-world farming adventure game set on a distant planet on the edge of the galaxy.

In the game, you can pilot a versatile mech and build your new home on a new planet. You must plant and harvest alien crops and explore the world's wilderness.

Lightyear Frontier is a classic cozy game: Relaxing and completely non-combatant, it just makes you spend hours cultivating.

5 tips for beginners in Lightyear Frontier

That said, here are 5 tips for beginners in Lightyear Frontier, the agricultural adventure game from FRAME BREAK.

The saw has two modes of use

The first of the five basic tools available to the player in Lightyear Frontier is the saw, which is used to break down all kinds of objects into useful materials.

To use this important tool correctly, players must bear in mind that the saw has two actions that are always accessible. The first, linked to the main tool's action button, is a thrusting blow. It only works on one object at a time, and is best used to break rocks, minerals and equally hard materials.

The slash action, linked to the secondary action button, is best used against trees and plants and can hit several items at once.

Make your farm close to water

Being mainly an agricultural sim, cultivating a garden is an important activity in Lightyear Frontier. The main ingredients needed to start growing plants in the game are soil, seeds and water.

And as the game progresses, fertilizer becomes another important item, even if it's not essential. The best way to find seeds and soil is to explore and create, while water is a different story.

Leaving the rain aside for a moment, which makes watering the plants temporarily unnecessary, watering the plants every day is extremely important. The best way to make this manual labor faster is to build the farm next to a water source and invest in the right mech upgrades.

Be pro-reforestation

As the saying goes, you reap what you sow, in other words, there is no reaping without sowing. Players who only cut down trees will soon find themselves surrounded by nothing but endless plains, the only forests that remain isolated are far from their home base.

To avoid this situation, players would do well to immediately plant any plants and tree sprouts they find in their inventory. Sprouts are different from ordinary plant seeds, which are grown on farm plots.

Unlike seeds, players can plant sprouts directly into the ground with the Sprout Cannon.

Decorating will give you bonuses

Lightyear Frontier parece gostar da descrição do gênero de “jogo aconchegante”, mas ao contrário da maioria dos outros jogos do gênero, ele dá ao aconchego sua própria mecânica.

Rest, by default, does not give any benefits in Lightyear FrontierUnless you consider advancing to the next day a benefit. But for most players, that won't be the case for long.

Not all the items that players can create have a specific use. Some are just decorations, or at least that's how they initially appear. Items that appear under the Decoration label, such as the Beach Chair, the Bird House and the fences, give a bonus to nearby properties, from shacks to large houses.

Improving the property is mandatory to achieve higher levels of coziness.

Feed the animals and their nests in Lightyear Frontier

Feeding the animals on this planet isn't just a good thing to do; it's also a great way to obtain additional materials.

Friendly neighbors can make the work go more smoothly, even if those neighbors are colorful, feathery dinosaurs or tiny alien rats. Feeding an animal will grant the player some random resources while placing enough fodder in a nest, which will make mineral production in the area faster.

Different animals and nests will want a specific type of fodder. The fanciest animals won't accept old, basic fodder. And as the game opens up, new types of fodder will become available, and the animal will become more demanding.

Finally, Lightyear Frontier is now available at PC e Xbox Series. It is also available at Xbox Game Pass.
