The youtube channel PlayStation has just announced on his blog that Concord, its latest release, will have its servers shut down.
After a sales failure and several negative reviews from gamers and critics, the Sony will deactivate the game on September 6 and will offer a full refund to any player who has purchased the game.
However Firewalk Studios states that it should resume the game in the future, trying to find alternatives to reach the players, see the quote below:
[We will] explore options, including those that will best reach our players. While we determine the best way forward, sales of Concord will cease immediately and we will begin offering a full refund to all players who purchased the game for PS5 or PC.
If you purchased the game for PlayStation 5 from the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct, a refund will be issued back to your original payment method.
Concord is one of the games that formed part of PlayStation's strategy of releasing more than 10 games as a service, back when Jim Ryan was at PlayStation.
The game certainly didn't work out, and many factors may have had an impact, from the theme to the characters and even the model adopted for the game.
