Ubisoft rekindles the Prince of Persia flame

Ubisoft has just unveiled several exciting updates to its iconic Prince of Persia franchise. These include free updates for the games Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Rogue Prince of Persia, as well as a preview of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

The long-awaited free update "Divine Trials" is now available for all players of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, adding 22 expert challenges for users to test their skills to the max. From now on it is also possible to access the Hall of Memorials, through a special door located in the Haven, and choose between four sets of challenges, which get increasingly difficult and are designed with unique exotic conditions.

Whether it's platforming, puzzles, combat or even reworked boss battles, there's no such thing as an easy victory. On this journey, four new amulets and outfits will reward players who manage to defeat the new boss at the end of each mission. Those who have already completed the challenges in trial periods will keep their progress for this challenge.

Finally, during the conference, fans also got a sneak preview of the upcoming "Mask of Darkness" DLC, which will arrive on all platforms in September 2024.

The Rogue Prince of Persia

Newly released and critically acclaimed, The Rogue Prince of Persia has received its first major early access update. "The Temple of Fire" introduces a vibrant but treacherous biome, where players will have to mobilize all their skills to overcome new enemies, traps and traversal challenges. The Evil Empire studio has spiced up the experience with two new mobs (the Armored Warrior and the Duelist) and a new weapon (Flaming Incense).

The update also introduces the Meta Progression Skill Tree, which allows players to use Spirit Glows to unlock persistent upgrades. "The Temple of Fire" is the first major content addition among several planned between now and the release of version 1.0 of the game. It was based on feedback given by the community during the early access period.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was given a release date during Ubisoft Forward. Set in 2026, players will be able to reconnect with their beloved Prince in an adventure rebuilt from the ground up that captures the magic of the original game. The title has successfully completed its pre-production phase and is now in full production by Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Pune and E-Studio, which join Ubisoft Montréal.
