Red Dead Redemption announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch

The youtube channel Rockstar Games is relaunching the Red Dead Redemption original on two modern platforms. Giving owners of Nintendo Switch e PlayStation 4 the chance to play the open-world western adventure natively.

Red Dead Redemption will be released digitally on Nintendo Switch e PS4 on August 17, the developer announced on Monday. A physical release is scheduled for October 13. The Nintendo eShop e PlayStation Store of Red Dead Redemption will cost US$ 49.99. Rockstar has not announced prices for physical versions and the amount in Brazilian real is not yet known.

The relaunch of Red Dead Redemption will include the Undead Nightmare expansion, which brought zombies into the world of Red Deadand the game's bonus content from the "Game of the Year" edition. The multiplayer mode will not be included.

The version PS4 of Red Dead Redemption can be played in the PlayStation 5 (In case you're wondering about an Xbox version of this port, the original Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption has been playable on Xbox One since 2016 via backwards compatibility. That extends to the Xbox Series X and with 4K enhancement).

Finally, the developer Double Eleven is responsible for the port of Red Dead Redemption to PS4 e Switchsaid Rockstar in a press release.

Are there any new features in this version of Red Dead Redemption?

In short, if you were wondering, no, there are no new features. In other words, it will just be a complete port of the original version of the game of the year that we had on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

However, the game will now also come with Brazilian Portuguese subtitles, something that unfortunately Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S users won't be able to enjoy. But even so, with Xbox backwards compatibility, it will be possible to play Red Dead Redemption in 4K, something that apparently won't be available in this official version.
